Daytime Lane Restriction Along US 641 in Lyon County Begins Thursday

Motorists who routinely travel US Highway 641 between Fredonia and Eddyville need to be aware of a work zone lane restriction scheduled to be in place for the next week.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says the lane restriction, which is expected to go up Thursday, will extend from the US Highway 62 intersection northward to the Lyon-Caldwell County line. He adds the daytime work zone will allow mechanical brush cutting along the right-of-way in this area.

Todd notes motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating traffic flow controlled by flaggers between approximately 7AM and 4PM each day through about Friday, July 17th. He states the work zone will be a mobile operation, so the site will change from day to day as work progresses and some minor delays are possible during the movement and positioning of equipment to facilitate the work.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and maintenance personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
