50th Annual Black Patch Heritage Festival Canceled Due to COVID-19

The 50th Annual Black Patch Heritage Festival has been canceled due to health concerns over the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Longtime Princeton Optimist Club member George Kilgore says after much deliberation and discussion with local health officials the club has decided to forego this year’s festival and focus all of their attention to next year.

He adds the potential spread of the virus eventually lead to the decision to cancel.

Kilgore notes they also made the decision as a way to not impose more economic hardships to local businesses that help sponsor the annual festival.

The Princeton Optimist Club will be issuing refunds in the next week for those vendors who had already sent in their application and are looking forward to returning with the Black Patch Heritage Festival in 2021.
