Eastbound Lane Restriction on I-24 in Lyon County Tuesday

Motorists who routinely travel along Interstate 24 in Lyon County need to be aware of a work zone lane restriction on Tuesday.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Keith Todd says the lane restriction will be along the eastbound lanes near the 44 mile marker to allow Kentucky State Police investigators to gather additional information concerning a multi-vehicle accident that happened June 22nd and claimed the life of an 11-year-old boy and injured several others. He adds the work zone is expected to go up at 10AM and remain in place until about noon, or as soon as the investigative work is completed.

All eastbound traffic will move to the left-hand, or passing, lane in this area and Todd notes motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they approach the 44 mile marker.

This work zone will be just east of the I-24/I-69 Exit 42 interchange near Eddyville.
