Hopkinsville Electric System has partnered with the Tennessee Valley Authority to donate $20,000 to assist the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The COVID-19 Community Care Fund is part of an effort by the Tennessee Valley Authority and local power companies to provide resources, programs, and assistance to support communities and reinforce the strength of public power in the Tennessee Valley area.
HES General Manager Jeff Hurd says it is a great opportunity to share funds to assist their customers in their service area.
HES donated $5,000 to the Hopkinsville YMCA, The Aaron McNeil House, The Boys and Girls Club, and Pennyrile Allied Community Services.
