The Hopkinsville Fire Department has received a Halo Disinfection System to aid in the fight against COVID-19.
Clay and Sherrie Smith of Pennyrile Ford donated $10,000 towards the purchase of the Halo unit which uses a cloud of disinfectant to sanitize a room or space quickly.
Hopkinsville Fire Department Chief Steve Futrell says the unit will be a great help to the city in disinfecting their ambulances quickly.
Clay Smith adds he first saw the machine on the news and knew it would be a great help to the department.
The unit can be used in a variety of spaces and will allow the department to stretch the use of protective equipment and help reduce expenses.
