Recent Filings In Christian County For November General Election

Several Christian County residents have filed to run in the November general election.

According to the Christian County Clerk’s Office, Jacqueline Oliver, Amanda Weiss Cook, and John Campbell filed to run for Oak Grove City Council which consists of six seats, and Raymond Michael Walker filed to run for the District 4 school board seat.

Dickie Reece and Stephen Stites filed to run for a seat on the Lafayette City Commission which is comprised of 4 seats, and Jared Thatcher filed to run for the unexpired term of the mayor of Lafayette.

For the Ward 3 Hopkinsville City Council seat, Jarred Mathis filed as an Independent candidate, Ron Hicks filed to run as an Independent in Ward 2, and Charles Crabtree III filed as an Independent to run for the Ward 4 seat.

The clerks’ office shows six people have filed to run for non-partisan Crofton City Council seats which is made up of six seats. They are Anthony Durham, Brenda West, Wanda Croft, Jimmy Grace, Gregory Paul Owen, and Reta Fleming.

And three people have filed to run for the Pembroke City Commission — David Rule, Jeanette Aldridge, and Karen Mitchell Pyle.

As the News Edge previously reported, current Democratic Mayor Wendell Lynch and Republican James R. Knight, Jr. will face off in November to fill the remainder of the 4-year term as Hopkinsville mayor, which would be two years.
