One child died and a second was injured when they were hit by a truck as they crossed Pembroke Oak Grove Road Friday afternoon.
Kentucky State Police say an 11-year-old and 5-year-old were hit as they crossed the road by a southbound truck that was towing a trailer. The truck was driven by 63-year-old Wanda Sydnor of Russellville. The wreck occurred in front of the 115 One Stop Market.
Both children were taken by ambulance to Blanchfield Army Community Hospital. Police say the 5-year-old was pronounced dead. The 11-year-old child was treated for leg injuries.
