Trigg Hospital Hopeful Most Staff Can Return By End Of June

Trigg County Hospital is working to bring back all staff members by June 30.

During the Thursday Board of Trustees meeting, hospital CEO John Sumner says under guidelines of the $1.5 million PPP loan they were awarded, a large percentage of their staff must return to work.

In other positive news, Sumner says service volume continues to increase across the hospital.

He adds the weekend clinic at Trigg County Primary Care reopened over the Memorial Day weekend, but featured very low volume. He says the clinic will return the first weekend in June, but if the volume doesn’t pick up it could be closed again.

The board learned that Dr. Steven Mayfield was hired as the Emergency Department Director by American Physician Partners.

The board also approved naming Dr. Joe Thomas the temporary Chief of Staff for the Board of Trustees.

Additionally, CFO Don Michaels reported about a $94,000 net loss at the end of April and says the hospital ended the fiscal year with a net gain of just over $1 million.
