Kentucky Nursing Homes To Receive CARES Act Funding

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced this week Kentucky is receiving nearly $130 million to assist 347 skilled nursing facilities to help combat the coronavirus.

McConnell’s office says the federal funds will be distributed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and were made available via the CARES Act.

The Health and Human Services office reports each skilled nursing facility is eligible to receive $50,000, with an additional payment of $2,500 per bed in facilities with six or more beds. The funding may be used for COVID-19 related expenses, including to pay staff salaries, to increase testing, and to purchase personal protective equipment.
