Land Between the Lakes Information

Land Between the Lakes, managed by the U.S. Forest Service, is a federal National Recreation Area currently open for dispersed camping, hiking, turkey hunting, wildlife viewing, horseback riding and fishing. Permits can be purchased online.

The public has access to MOST trails, boat ramps and other outdoor recreation opportunities. Off-highway vehicles such as ATVs, side-by-sides and off-road motorcycles are not currently permitted anywhere in Land Between the Lakes.

Developed campgrounds remain closed, as are other social gathering places. It is illegal to intentionally damage forest roads or drive into fields. Help us conserve wildlife habitat and agricultural fields by staying on designated roads.
