Minor Storm Damage Reported From Wednesday Evening Storms

Severe thunderstorms that packed some strong winds caused some damage in Trigg and Christian counties Wednesday night.

Reports to the News Edge indicated a few trees had fallen across Trigg County, including on South Tanyard Road, Donaldson Creek Road, and Midway Road.

Power lines were also reported down in the 2900 block of Cox Mill Road in Christian County.

Numerous power outages were reported by Pennyrile Electric. At the height of the outages, less than 1,200 members were without electricity, with the biggest outage reported in Trigg County south of Main Street between Cardinal Drive and Lakota Drive. The biggest power outages in Christian County included portions of Oak Grove and some reported in the Hopkinsville city limits.

The Todd County Mesonet site reported a wind gust of 63 MPH around 9:05, trained weather spotters reported a gust of 55 MPH in Oak Grove at 8:55, and multiple gusts over 50 MPH were recorded at the WKDZ/WHVO Studios.
