Boys and Girls Club Delivering Meals, Virtual Programs to Kids

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Hopkinsville-Christian County is continuing to provide meals and services to nearly 150 kids through various methods.

Executive Director Terrence Davis said they are providing over 700 meals and snacks to the families of club members throughout the week.

right-click to download mp3The meals are available by delivery and pickup, and Davis said they are accepting donations for food items such as canned items, dried pasta, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter, bread, and cereals.

He said the boys and girls club has started their ‘Club Away from Club’ programs that are available Monday through Friday.

right-click to download mp3Davis says the ‘Club Away from Club’ program also gives a chance for the kids to enjoy the daily interaction with others that has been minimized due to the closing of schools and social distancing.

right-click to download mp3Davis said nearly 150 kids utilized the daily programs of the boys and girls club before they closed last month due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He wants to let everyone know that the club is still there for the kids.

right-click to download mp3Davis said donations to the boys and girls club can be dropped off each Monday and Friday from 10am-5pm at the boys and girls club at 1600 Walnut Street.
