HCC Extends Scholarship Deadline

Hopkinsville Community College (HCC) announced Wednesday the deadline for academic scholarships for the 2020-2021 year has been extended.

According to the school, the deadline is now May 1, since the unprecedented challenges of COVID-19 may have caused some students to miss the original March 15 deadline.

HCC President Dr. Alissa Young adds students need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible for full consideration of all available aid. She says the Hopkinsville Rotary Scholars Program is on a different schedule and students eligible must complete the FAFSA by May 15, in order to be considered.

The school adds with the likelihood of senior honors programs and scholarship award ceremonies being postponed, they hope to host a celebration for scholarship recipients, either virtually or on campus, contingent on recommendations from public health experts.

Students can apply by visiting the school’s website and entering scholarship in the search box. Completed forms can be emailed to jeremy.calico@kctcs.edumailed to HCC, Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 2100, Hopkinsville, KY, 42241-2100. Calico can also be reached during regular business hours at (270) 707-3809.
