Caldwell County Confirms First COVID-19 Case

Caldwell County has announced its first confirmed COVID-19 case.

During a press conference at Princeton City Hall, Caldwell County Judge/Executive Larry Curling announced that county officials were notified early Tuesday morning of the positive case.

He added that Caldwell declared a state of emergency on March 17th, prior to any cases being announced within the county.

Judge Curling reminded citizens to continue to follow medical officials’ advice about social distancing.

Pennyrile District Health Department Director Jim Tolley stated that the Health Department will continue to be vigilant in the days and weeks ahead as the fight to contain the virus carries on.

Princeton Mayor Kota Young then asked the community to do their part in containing and
stopping the spread of the virus.

He expressed that these sacrifices aren’t just for ourselves, personally, but for those around us who are more at risk.

Mayor Young ended by stating that while many may be afraid, you are not alone, and this community will come out better on the other end.

Officials with the Health Department explain that the 58-year-old female was tested in Hopkinsville.
