Scams And COVID-19 Concerns Discussed With KY Seniors

Governor Andy Beshear, Attorney General Daniel Cameron, Secretary Eric Friedlander, and Dr. John Klein participated in a Tele-Town Hall with AARP Kentucky Monday morning. They discussed concerns from seniors over 60 that covered several COVID-19 topics, including scams and frauds.

Attorney General Daniel Cameron says his office is working very hard to protect Kentuckians from those who are attempting to illegally profit from consumers by engaging in fraud, scams, and price gouging during the coronavirus outbreak.

Since March, Cameron says his office has received 1,400 reports of suspected price gouging in the commonwealth.

He adds it’s great to see how local communities have stepped up to help. He says they have also had to make changes for in-home services by using telecommuting and Skype and limiting in home visits.

In addition, Friedlander said for available AARP resources, seniors can call (877) 925-0037.
