NWS Confirms Tornado Caused Damage In Crofton

A storm survey assessment team toured damage made during a severe thunderstorm near Crofton Monday night.

Following the survey Tuesday afternoon, the National Weather Service in Paducah confirmed an EF-1 tornado, with peak winds of 90 MPH, touched down near Crofton. The tornado was 400 yards wide and was on the ground for 5 and a half miles. The twister touched down around 8:00 1.3 miles southwest of Crofton and remained on the ground until 8:06.

Christian County Emergency Management Director Randy Graham tells the News Edge damage was reported throughout the community.

 

No injuries or deaths were reported from the storm, which rolled through before 8:30 Monday evening.
