Committee Ready To Screen CCPS Superintendent Applicants

Officials with the Kentucky Association of School Administrators (KASA) announced Thursday they have received nearly a dozen applications for the Christian County Public Schools’ superintendent position.

According to KASA officials, the screening committee has received eleven applications. Of those, ten are in-state applicants and one is from out of state with three of the applicants having superintendent experience.

The district is searching for a new superintendent after Mary Ann Gemmill announced in November she is retiring at the end of this school year. Gemmill was appointed as the superintendent of the district on July 12, 2012, after previously serving in public school administrations in Tennessee, Illinois, and Florida.

KASA officials say the screening committee will now begin the process of screening all applications following the guidelines under state law and board policy.
