A Hopkinsville man and a Princeton man were arrested on various charges, including drug possession, following an altercation over the weekend.

Princeton Assistant Police Chief Shane Allison states that officers responded to a domestic violence call at a residence on Citizens Court just before one Sunday morning. He adds that when officers arrived and spoke with the victim and a witness investigation revealed that the suspect, 25-year-old John Oliver, of Hopkinsville, had left the scene and was unable to be located.

Assistant Chief Allison notes that around 11:45 Sunday night officers were able to locate Oliver back at the residence and a search revealed that he was allegedly in possession of suspected illicit substances.

Oliver was taken into custody and booked into the Caldwell County Jail charged with fourth-degree domestic violence, first-degree possession of methamphetamine, first-degree possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also served two Christian County bench warrants for contempt of court.

Michael Hinman

Assistant Chief Allison reports that just before 3:30 Monday morning officers were contacted by 26-year-old Michael Hinman, of Princeton, who allegedly told officers that the methamphetamine found during Oliver’s arrest belonged to him. Hinman was then arrested and charged with first-degree possession of methamphetamine and was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
