HES Energynet Christmas Parade Lights Up Season

The annual Hopkinsville Electric System Energynet Christmas Parade served as the perfect event to put the Holiday season into full swing in Hopkinsville and Christian County.

More than 100 floats and golf carts made up the parade, with nice weather helping to attract a large crowd to downtown Hopkinsville Saturday night.  Parade Grand Marshall Hopkinsville Community College President Dr. Alissa Young says leading the parade was a true honor.

Rogers group won Grand Champion Float, with Jones Brothers towing taking second place.  Stewart Richey Construction won the Best Business Float category, with Little River Missionary Baptist Church winning the Spirit Division.

The results of the WHVO-WKDZ Peoples Choice Award will be announced Monday morning.

Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tab Brockman says the popularity of the HES Energynet Christmas Parade is continuing to grow.

Other downtown activities that are a part of Hopkinschill continue Sunday with the final sessions of Skatin’ On The Square at Founders Square in downtown Hopkinsville.
