Trigg Farmer Appointed To State Board of Agriculture

A Trigg County farmer is among eight new members recently appointed by Governor Matt Bevin to the Kentucky Board of Agriculture.

Micah Lester will represent crop farmers for a term expiring August 1, 2021. Lester grows corn, soybeans, and wheat for Lester Family Farms near Gracey.

Ag Commissioner Ryan Quarles congratulated the new members and says he looks forward to working with each member to advance the priorities of Kentucky’s farm families.

The first meeting of the new board will be January 6, 2020, in Frankfort, following the swearing-in of Kentucky’s constitutional officers, including Commissioner Quarles, in the Capitol Rotunda. The meeting will include an orientation session and a review of the duties of members.
