NWS Officials Offer Tips For Winter Weather

This week is Winter Weather Preparedness Week in Kentucky and with the forecast calling for the temperature to plummet next week now is the time to prepare.

National Weather Service of Paducah Warning Coordination Meteorologist Rick Shanklin is encouraging everyone to prepare for winter weather by staying informed of the forecast.

Assistant Warning Coordination Meteorologist Christine Wielgos adds it’s important for everyone to remember that storms are moving at a faster rate of speed this time of the year and the amount of time you have to react is a lot less than a storm in the Spring. She notes it’s even more imperative for you to be prepared and have a plan of action before a warning is issued.
