Hopkinsville Prepares For Small Business Saturday Shopping

Hopkinsville Mayor Carter Hendricks presented the 2019 Small Business Saturday Proclamation to Casey Jones Distillery Friday morning and announced Small Business Saturday in Christian County is November 30. The distillery, owned by A.J. Jones and Peg Hays, was the winner of last year’s “Favorite Small Business” contest hosted by the United Way of the Pennyrile.

Mayor Hendricks expressed his gratitude to Casey Jones Distillery for its contribution to the local economy.

He then read the proclamation of how small businesses impact the economy.

Hendricks stated Small Business Saturday inspires consumers and contributes to holiday sales for small businesses each year.

He added the city will coin the nickname of “Shopkinsville” for November 30th and urged residents of local communities and communities across the country to support small businesses and merchants on Small Business Saturday.

The Christian County Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Farmers Market, and the Downtown Renaissance District will partner to highlight all small businesses located in Hopkinsville and Christian County on November 30th. Festivities will be from 10 AM until 2 PM at the Downtown Farmers Market in Founders Square.
