Boys and Girls Club Partners with Rotary on Special Project

The Boys and Girls Club of Hopkinsville-Christian County received a $200,000 donation from the Hopkinsville Rotary Club in the creation of a kitchen facility to support their meal program.

At the Rotary meeting Tuesday, former Mayor Dan Kemp spoke on behalf of the Boys and Girls Club about the need for the kitchen.

He said the project was made possible by donations from the community, First Christian Church, the City of Hopkinsville, Boys and Girls Club of America, and Hopkinsville Rotary. He expressed gratitude to everyone for their efforts in supporting their project.

Boys and Girls Club Alumni Carlie Lane spoke about the importance of the club for youth.

Executive Director Terrence Davis said they hope to have the kitchen completed and in use by spring of next year.

Rotary member Trent Haddock expressed his gratitude for the work of the Boys and Girls Club and added they are excited to support them.

The Boys and Girls Club of Hopkinsville is located at 1600 Walnut Street and is happy to provide a safe place for area youth to learn and grow.
