Deputy Fire Chief/Assistant EMS Director Steve Futrell spoke at the Kiwanis meeting on Thursday to share details on the work the Hopkinsville Fire Department is doing in the community.
Deputy Futrell, a 20-year veteran with the department, says their biggest goal is to be more involved as ambassadors to the community.
Hopkinsville Fire Department and EMS serve the second largest county in Kentucky with 724 square miles encompassing a population of over 73,000 in their jurisidiction.He gave specifics on their technology assured response system and how they efficently receive information about a service call.
Deputy Futrell spoke about their EMS services as well, adding they are largely advanced in their technology and capabilities.
The mission of their job is teaching and serving the community. He says when people call, for whatever reason, they go.
