Joe Diffie To Headline 2019 Summer Salute Festival

A country artist with five number one singles will headline the 2019 Summer Salute Festival in downtown Hopkinsville.

Joe Diffie will take the stage during the final night of the festival on Saturday, August 24. Diffie made a name for himself in the 1990s with singles “Home”, “If the Devil Danced (In Empty Pockets)”, “Third Rock from the Sun”, “Pickup Man”, and “Bigger Than the Beatles”.

Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation Superintendent Tab Brockman says they are excited to welcome Diffie to Summer Salute.

Diffie will perform following opening act and Kentucky native Walker Montgomery who is the son to John Michael Montgomery.

The concert is sponsored by Forterra Credit Union, Pennyrile Electric, Hopkinsville Electric System/EnergyNet, and Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority and will take place in front of the Christian County Justice Center.

The Jimmy Church Band will come back to the festival on Friday night, August 23 and Program Coordinator Toby Hudson says the show will help celebrate a special milestone.
