UPDATE – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Paducah has confirmed an EF-1 tornado caused damaged along Striped Bridge Road in Christian County Friday night.

Paducah NWS Science and Operations Officer Pat Spoden lead a storm survey team Saturday that took a look at storm damage across portions of Christian and Todd counties.
Tree damage at Interstate 24/Exit 73 intersection
While in Christian County, the team spent time looking at numerous downed trees along and near the Interstate 24/Exit 73 intersection, Newstead Road, Pierce Lane, and Striped Bridge Road.

Spoden tells the News Edge a majority of the tree and structural damage looks to have been caused by straight-line winds that approached 100 MPH, with damage on Striped Bridge Road looking more tornadic.
Garage damage at Bryant Bond’s home on Striped Bridge Road
Striped Bridge Road resident Bryant Bond told the survey team the storm sounded like a train as it moved closer to his property. Bond adds his family barely made it to safety while the storm uprooted trees and caused extensive damage to his garage, with minimal damage done to the home. Two vehicles were in the garage and suffered damaged, while a pickup truck that was parked outside did not.
