Boys and Girls Club Director Shares Exciting Opportunities for Area Youth

Hopkinsville Christian County Boys and Girls Club Executive Director Terrance Davis spoke at the Kiwanis Club meeting on Thursday to share exciting new programs for local youth this summer and next school year.

Davis says the club was very successful in 2018 while serving local youth and expects to serve more kids and teens in the coming year.

right-click to download mp3He mentioned five high school graduates involved in the club that graduated with high GPAs, stating that the Boys and Girls Club greatly contributed to their success.

During the school year, they host a Power Hour designed to help students improve their academic success. Davis says they will introduce a new workforce development program this year, and beginning in August, will provide a safe place for teens to go on Friday nights.

The Boys and Girls Club will be hosting a Club Field Day on July 22nd and a Back to School Bash on July 26th where they will give each child a backpack filled with school supplies. They will also be hosting Summer Brain Gain, a six weeks program of fun activities designed to help students minimize summer learning loss. For more information go to www.bgchcc.org.
