Man Charged With Assaulting Hopkinsville Police Officer

A Hopkinsville man was arrested and charged with assaulting a Hopkinsville police officer and public intoxication Monday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say 50-year-old Curtis McGee was seen by police walking in the middle of Harrison Street.

During a search,  An officer was cut by a glass pipe that had a white residue inside.

Officers asked McGee before the search if he had anything that would cut or hurt them and he told them no.

McGee’s eyes were reportedly bloodshot and he was talking with people who were not there.

McGee is charged with third-degree assault, public intoxication, and hitchhiking.
