Hendricks Announces Intent To Run For Logan/Todd Circuit Judge

A Logan County native announced his intent to run for the Circuit Judge position in Logan and Todd County during the November General Election.

Joe W. Hendricks, Jr. announced Monday he would be running for the position held by Judge Tyler Gill who is retiring on July 31, 2019. Hendricks, a partner at Brooks and Hendricks, a general law practice in Russellville served as an Assistant District Attorney for the Appalachian Circuit of Georgia and was elected as the Circuit’s chief prosecuting attorney in 2004. During his time, he has lead counsel on over 50 jury trials and in murder cases, including two death penalty cases.

He is married to Kaye Hendricks, a teacher at Chandlers Elementary School in Russellville.

Hendricks is a graduate of Berry College and the Georgia State University of Law and has over a decade of experience prosecuting felony criminal cases.

He says “I want to ensure that we have a Circuit Court that is efficient, fair, and accessible to the people of Logan and Todd Counties and that upholds our values.”

Judge Gill announced he would be retiring from the position in April and was recently on the shortlist for the vacant Supreme Court seat for the 1st District after Justice Bill Cunningham announced he was retiring after a 40-year law career.
