Crofton Man And Woman Charged With Fleeing From Police

A Crofton man and woman were charged with fleeing from police in Hopkinsville Tuesday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say 31-year-old Joseph Matheney and 30-year-old Jamie Beising were seen walking on Bryan Street around 3 p.m. when officers got out with them, Matheney dropped his backpack and they fled on foot.

Beising ran into a Clay Street home and was arrested. Matheney fled onto the railroad tracks and was stopped after being surrounded by police.


Matheney was reportedly found to have methamphetamine, pills, and a glass pipe.

Both are charged with fleeing or evading police, Matheney was also charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were also arrested for probation violation warrants. They are both lodged in the Christian County Jail.
