Wiggins Graduates Department Of Criminal Justice Program

A Cadiz police officer graduated from a Department of Criminal Justice program last week.

The department reports Major Duncan Wiggins completed the Criminal Justice Executive Development program on Friday. The program is an advanced leadership course designed for supervisors at the state’s small and medium-size agencies.

Twenty people graduated the course which was the Department of Criminal Justice Training’s 24th class. It is a four-week program that focuses on identifying, analyzing and solving problems as well as leadership, personnel administration, operations, fiscal management, executive, and environmental relationships.

The department notes students gain the academic background, leadership skills, and management techniques required for the future. In order to take part in the class, potential students must be supervisors who rank sergeant or above and must apply for entrance into the program and be selected by a committee of graduates from across the Commonwealth.
