A Hopkinsville woman was charged after her dog bit a mail carrier on Jessup Avenue Monday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say a dog owned by 54-year-old Debra Alexander got out of her home and attacked a mail carrier causing severe injuries to the woman’s leg.
It reportedly took two people to remove the dog after the attack and the woman was flown to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
The dog was turned over voluntarily and is currently at the animal shelter.
