The Storm Prediction Center has increased our severe weather risk for Saturday.
Weather Edge Forecaster David Powell says most of the region is one step above the slight risk category.
Powell adds there is a chance for very strong storms throughout the day Saturday.
He notes the storms threat should be over by the early evening hours.
As a reminder, the National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for all of western Kentucky that will end at 9:00 PM.
Meteorologists say winds will increase during the morning hours, with peak wind speeds and gusts occurring by mid-afternoon. Sustained winds up to 30 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph, are expected.
If severe weather breaks out, we will break in on 106.5 WKDZ, 96.5 & 100.9 WHVO, and 103.3 WPKY.
