He adds most of the Pennyrile region of western Kentucky received over 10 inches of rainfall. Currently, they are not expecting any heavy rainfall events in the near future which will help the region dry out.

According to Shanklin, when the region receives significant amounts of rainfall, it does take a while for the area to completely dry out and lake levels to return to normal.
