First Carp-Crete In KY Poured In Lyon County This Week

The war on Asian Carp to reduce the population in Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake continues and businesses are coming up with innovative ways to use the invasive fish in various products, including carp-crete.

Judge-Executive Wade White says they poured the first carp crete in Kentucky Tuesday at a business in Lyon County.

He adds the carp-crete can be used the same as normal concrete.

In addition, White says Asian Carp is being used to make other products, including for human and animal consumption, which could be key to getting them removed from Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake.

He says the war on Asian Carp is going well and there are a lot of positive things happening, not only in Kentucky but in Washington D.C. Although White says there are some negatives, overall he adds they are further along in the war on Asian Carp than he expected to be at this time.
