UPDATE-One Person Taken Into Custody After School Social Media Threat

Trigg County Schools Superintendent Travis Hamby tells the News Edge one person has been taken into custody in connection to a social media threat involving Trigg County Schools.

He says they have been working with the Cadiz Police Department and Trigg County Sheriff’s Office after they were made aware of the threat Wednesday morning. After an investigation and the arrest, he says law enforcement has indicated there is no longer a reason for a heightened safety concern.

Cadiz Police Chief Chad Grace says 35-year old Tim Jackson, of Cadiz, was arrested and charged with second-degree Terroristic Threatening. He was lodged in Christian County Jail.

According to Hamby, school officials were made aware of a potential threat Wednesday morning.

He adds all steps were taken to ensure the safety of students and staff.

Hamby says they appreciate everyone’s vigilance.

He notes all threats will be investigated to ensure the safety of Trigg County students and staff.
