The legal team representing the Covington Catholic High School Student who was confronted by a protester during a recent visit to Washington, DC, is suing the Washington Post.

According to media reports, the legal team has filed a lawsuit seeking $250 million in damages from the Washington Post. They claim the Washington Post published no less than six false and defamatory articles about Nick Sandman and his family.

The Post’s coverage is likened to McCarthyism by Sandman’s attorney. The attorneys claim the Post competed with other national outlets to claim leadership of a mob of bullies which attacked, vilified and threatened Nicholas Sandman.

Sandman was the subject of a confrontation with Omaha Tribe Elder Nathan Phillips, who was seen in a video last month singing and playing a drum in front of Sandman at the Lincoln Memorial.
