More Info Released About Robbery And Officer Shooting

Additional details have been released about a robbery and officer shooting in Hopkinsville early Monday morning.

According to the Christian County arrest warrant for 25-year old Autumn Neblett of Palmyra, Tennessee, she and 24-year September Neblett, 19-year old Anthony Johnson and 28-year old Keith Kuzyk went to the Walmart on Clinic Drive in Hopkinsville in a Dodge 4×4 to steal an automobile around 1:30 Monday morning. Upon arrival, they identified a white Tahoe that was occupied by Ethan Sisk and three other subjects. Kuzyk approached the SUV and ordered them out at gunpoint and then hit the driver with the weapon when he refused to get out of the vehicle. The driver and passengers then got out of the vehicle, and Kuzyk reportedly fired a handgun in the air. The warrant says Johnson got in the passenger side of the Tahoe armed with a gun, and he and Kuzyk drove away, while Autumn and September Neblett drove away in the Dodge they arrived in at Walmart.

The warrant says the four met up later and September Neblett got into the stolen Tahoe with Johnson and Kuzyk got back in the Dodge with Autumn. Hopkinsville Police Officer Jeremy Davidson saw the Dodge and attempted to make a traffic stop but the vehicle fled and a pursuit ensued. During the police chase, a Christian County Sheriff’s deputy deployed a spike strip on North Drive and Kuzyk allegedly swerved and tried to hit the deputy as he deployed the strips. Kuzyk also reportedly fired a rifle multiple times at Officer Davidson during the pursuit, striking him twice. Police say the Dodge continued to flee and was found abandoned at a Sanderson Drive home and the firearm was removed by Kuzyk and Autumn.

During this pursuit with Kuzyk and Autumn, the warrant says a Hopkinsville Police Officer Jamal Howard spotted the Tahoe and tried to make a traffic stop but it fled the scene and traveled into Tennessee where officers lost sight of it.

Later Monday morning, police say Autumn Neblett was arrested after she was found hiding in a dugout at University Heights Academy along with the assault rifle used to in the shooting with Officer Davidson.

As previously reported, Public Information Officer Sandra Brandon with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office told the News Edge Monday afternoon that Kuzyk was apprehended after he was seen in a vehicle in the River Road area of Montgomery County. She said Christian County and Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and spotted the vehicle.

After Kuzyk was apprehended, Brandon added he was taken to the hospital to be medically cleared. She adds Kuzyk was charged with felony evading in Montgomery County and lodged in the Montgomery County Jail under a $100,000 bond and would be extradited to Christian County.
