Injured Hopkinsville Officer Could Be Released From Hospital Tuesday

Hopkinsville Police Officer Jeremy Davidson could be released from Skyline Medical Center as soon as Tuesday.

Officer Davidson’s family tells the News Edge that he is continuing to improve and could be released Tuesday if he continues to progress.

Officer Davidson is a native of Michigan.  After serving in the United States Air Force, Officer Davidson began his career in law enforcement at the Hopkinsville Police Department nearly four years ago.

Officer Davidson is married to Chelsea Nichols Davidson, who is the daughter of Christian County Deputy Sheriff Mark Nichols.  They have two children that attend Millbrooke Elementary School.

Nichols described his son in law as an outstanding officer who has a chance to do great things in the community.

Christian County Sheriff Tyler DeArmond, who was Officer Davidson’s supervisor for two years at the Hopkinsville Police Department, described the officer as a class act.

Trigg County Sheriff Jason Barnes, who worked along side Officer Davidson at the Hopkinsville Police Department said they don’t make them any better.

Deputy Nichols asked the community to continue to keep Officer Davidson and his family in their thoughts and prayers as he continues to recover from injuries.

Officer Davidson was shot in the arm and head during a pursuit early Monday morning in Hopkinsville.  He was taken to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville following the shooting.
