While the partial government shutdown continues through the weekend, Kentucky residents on the SNAP program will get some funds early.
The Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services reports Tuesday, January 15 is the deadline for completion of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program cases for early issuance. Any applicants who are approved between January 15 and January 30 will receive their benefits for January and February on their EBT cards by January 31.
Most customers on SNAP will receive their February SNAP benefits in January due to the shutdown. February assistance benefits for these customers will be loaded to customer accounts/EBT cards by Sunday, January 20. They add customers can use the funds immediately at any authorized retailer but they will not receive any more benefits for February.
