Third District State Senator Whitney Westerfield is officially in the race for Kentucky Attorney General. Westerfield filed his papers to make his candidacy official Thursday with the Secretary of State’s office.
Westerfield says he wants to use his experience as a prosecutor for the state.

Westerfield, who is a Republican, is the only candidate who has filed for Attorney General. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s former lawyer Daniel Jay Cameron has filed a letter of intent to run with the Registry of Election Finance that he intends to start raising and spending money as a candidate for Kentucky Attorney General.
