A large crowd was on hand Saturday for the annual Wreaths Across America ceremony at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville.

The ceremony that was held at the Committal Shelter at the cemetery featured members of each branch of military service placing a holiday wreath in honor of those who are buried in the cemetery.  Following remarks during the ceremony, all those who attended the service took wreaths and placed them on the grave sites to honor the men and women buried there.

Meanwhile, a nice crowd gathered Saturday morning in front of the 101st Airborne Division Headquarters at Fort Campbell for the first Wreaths Across America Ceremony on post.  Brigadier General Todd Royar told the crowd it’s more than just placing a wreath on the grave of a veteran.

Following his remarks, wreaths were placed around the flag pole in front of the 101st Division Headquarters at Fort Campbell.
