State Representative Walker Thomas of Hopkinsville has been chosen by House Leadership to chair the Capital Projects and Bond Oversight Committee for his upcoming term in the Kentucky General Assembly.

This committee provides oversight on matters involving state funds for capital projects and emergency repair, state property leases, and the issuances of state bonds for various building projects, including for local school districts and universities.

Thomas says it is an honor to have the confidence of leadership to serve Christian and Trigg counties in this capacity, and he looks forward to using his business background to provide sound oversight over a large portion of the Commonwealth’s finances.

Thomas serves House District 8 in the Kentucky General Assembly, which includes parts of Christian and Trigg counties. The General Assembly convenes for the 2019 session on January 8.
