Red Kettle Campaign Kicks Off In Hopkinsville

Two Hopkinsville organizations gathered together Tuesday afternoon to celebrate the kick-off of the annual Salvation Army Kettle campaign.

Major José Marquez from the Hopkinsville chapter of the Salvation Army thanked the rotary club and the Kiwanis club for stepping up to help the annual fundraiser.

Hopkinsville Rotary Club member Scott Cowan says he enjoys being around people and helping to raise money for the annual campaign.

Kiwanis member Annie Catron

Hopkinsville Kiwanis Club member Annie Catron says she was raised through the Salvation Army Church, but over the last few years, she truly learned what the Salvation Army is all about.

Both organizations will host a friendly competition through the month of December to see who raises the most money. During the campaign kick-off, both organizations raised over $400.The theme for this year’s campaign is ‘Fight For Good’, and will officially kick-off nationally on Thursday afternoon during the Dallas Cowboys/Washington Redskins NFL game. Hopkinsville’s campaign will begin Friday morning at the Walmart on Clinic Drive.
