Elkins Wins Fifth District State Representative Seat

A new face will represent the fifth legislative district in the Kentucky General Assembly after Republican Larry Elkins defeated Democrat David Ramey Tuesday.

Elkins racked up 7,103 votes in Calloway County and 2,223 votes in Trigg County for the win. Ramey received 5,504 votes in Calloway County and 1,225 votes in Trigg County.

Elkins is the retired Calloway County Judge Executive. Ramey is currently an insurance agent in Murray.

Elkins will replace former State Representative Kenny Imes, who was appointed Calloway County Judge-Executive earlier this fall.
