Christian Co. Magistrates And School Board Election Winners

Christian County Fiscal Court will see two new faces this year after Tuesday’s General Election.

In district three Democratic incumbent Mark Cansler defeated Republican George Barnet by a vote of 1,386 to 1,311. Cansler carried two precincts compared to four precincts for Barnett.

In district six Republican challenger Phillip Peterson defeated Democratic incumbent Jack Lackey Sr. by a vote of 626 to 624. Peterson carried three precincts compared to one precinct for Lackey.

And in district seven Republican challenger Jerry Gilliam outdistanced Democratic incumbent David Collins by a vote of 1,296 to 972. Gilliam carried five precincts compared to two precincts for Collins.

Meanwhile, in the Christian County district five board of education race incumbent Tom Bell defeated challenger Mark Graham by a vote of 2,218 to 1,973. Bell carried six precincts to defeat Graham, who won in three precincts.
