Clarksville quilters recently donated 133 handmade trunk quilts to the Clarksville Police Department.

According to Public Information Officer Jim Knoll, the trunk quilts are meant to provide comfort to children or something to hold onto when they are going through a difficult time or feel like their world is crumbling in all around them.

The quilts were made by Clarksville quilters in groups, at home, and, in quilt guilds. Each quilt took anywhere from four to five hours to create, with Absolutely Fun Sewing acting as a hub for the quilts to be dropped off and provided a space for the quilters to work. Knoll adds the third Friday of each month, Absolutely Fun Sewing works on Charity Projects if anyone wants to help and donated fabrics (100% cotton) are accepted.
