Gravesite Vandalisms Being Investigated At LBL (w/Video & Photos)

The U.S. Forest Service is seeking information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the theft of bronze U.S. Veteran grave markers and other historic placards at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.

On October 1st, LBL Public Affairs Officer Chris Joyner says they noticed a historical marker made of bronze had been stolen at Hematite Cemetery. A couple of days later, they received more theft reports.

Joyner says they have done inventory and looked at other cemeteries and found other damages.

According to Joyner, they had to get permission from the family members before releasing the information Wednesday about the vandalism.

Joyner says they are looking for any information that may lead to the arrest of those responsible for these criminal acts.
