A Very Snowy Winter? Maybe

The first measurable snowfall of the year is predicted for December 23rd, just a couple of days before Christmas. But the biggest news in the forecast is the major snow event predicted for February 14th. Yes! The Frymire Forecast says we could see over a foot of snow on Valentine’s Day. You may know that Valentines Day always seems to have a big weather event around that time. And, according to the forecast, we’ll continue to see snow into the month of March with the first robin sighting (a sure sign of spring) expected on March 22nd.

As you may know, WKDZ’s Cindy Allen Lax has made it a mission to count the number of fogs in August which according to weather folklore, determines how many snows will occur over the winter. She says the there were two big fogs and six smaller ones in August. I’m not sure how many fogs the Frymire family counted but the Frymire Forecast suggests we could see very snowy times this winter.
