Man Charged With Possessing Meth And Synthetics

Authorities say a seatbelt violation landed a Hopkinsville man behind bars for possessing drugs.

Hopkinsville Police report 34-year old Jack McClendon was stopped for the violation at the intersection of West 1st and Fowler streets just after 2:00 Tuesday afternoon. After a K-9 unit arrived at the scene and hit on the vehicle, police say they found a black case inside the vehicle’s console with a meth pipe that contained methamphetamine, a small baggie of synthetic marijuana and a blue pill.

McClendon was arrested and booked into the Christian County Jail charged with 2nd Degree Possession of Controlled Substance (Drug Unspecified), 1st Degree Possession of Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), Possession of Synthetic Drugs, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Wear Seat Belts, and a couple of insurance and registration plate offenses.
